Dana Norris on Live Lit

I started Story Club in 2009 because I was looking for a way to share my stories, but what I love most about this show is watching other people share their own stories and experiences. I am continually amazed by the bold talent that steps up to our microphone each month.

Story Club is part of the thriving Live Lit community in Chicago.  More and more, audiences are hungry for artful renditions of authentic experience, and Chicago in particular has three traditions that make Live Lit possible: Studs Terkel, improv, and poetry slam.

Studs Terkel showed us the power present in the narratives of ordinary people, improv showed us that all you need in order to create art can be as simple as a group of people in a room, and poetry slams showed the power words have when they're move from the page to the stage.

Live Lit contains elements of all three disciplines and Story Club is proud to be a part of this burgeoning community.
